Hristo Rayanov, Guest of President's Club Bulgaria
On 23 January, our guest was the writer Hristo Rayanov.
Hristo Rayanov is 30 years old, born in the city of Ruse. He graduated in journalism from Sofia University "St. Kliment Ohridski" and holds a master's degree in creative writing from SU. He is currently a PhD student at SU with a specialisation in "Literature, Cinema, Screenwriting".
He has two published books. With his debut book "Трудният начин" he was the laureate of the "Южна пролет 2014" award in the "Проза" category. His second book, "Ами ако: България на три морета", is a collection of satirical essays, published in 2016.
Hristo Rayanov is featured in the first English-language catalogue "Съвременни български писатели" of the National Centre for Books (2015). He was recognised by Forbes magazine in the young talents ranking "30 под 30 – 2016". His short stories have been translated into Croatian. He has published short stories in the magazines "Гранта България" and "Страница".
He has worked as a television screenwriter since 2008. He has written for the series "Столичани в повече", "Откраднат живот", and the programmes "Нека говорят", "Сървайвър", "Най-хубавите години от нашия живот".
