Veselin Topalov's Spokesman a Guest of President's Club Bulgaria

Speaker of Veselin Topalov visits the Presidential Club of Bulgaria

17 March 2009. Zhivko Ginchev, spokesman for the 19th world chess champion Veselin Topalov, met with members of President's Club Bulgaria. The renowned Bulgarian journalist was a special guest at the Club's regular meeting, at which he presented interesting facts from the life and sporting career of the talented Bulgarian. He shared with those present details about our champion's preparation, his excitement before each match, as well as the efforts he undertakes to remain in top form. The hosts were particularly interested in Mr. Ginchev's account of the 2006 world title match between Veselin Topalov and Vladimir Kramnik, which became known as the "Toilet War". In it, he revealed the conflicting emotions the Bulgarian team had to endure throughout the entire ordeal in the capital of Kalmykia, Elista, and the psychological battle waged between the two camps there. At the end of his visit, Zhivko Ginchev received from Kalin Bozhilov, President of President's Club Bulgaria, a special gift—a bottle of red wine in a luxury box bearing the Club's emblem.
